Is the Embers a "buy in" retirement community?
No there is no endowment required at the Embers. Our contract is for 6 months and then it rolls over to month to month rent.

How much does it cost to move into the Embers?
Our security deposit is equal to a months rent and $500.00. Our monthly rent ranges from $1145.00 to $2115.00

How many apartments are at the Embers?
We have 108 apartments; 12 Studio, 40 - 1 Bedroom, 21 - 1 Bedroom Deluxe,
4 - 1 Bedroom Super, 22 - 2 Bedroom, and 9 - 2 Bedroom Deluxe.

Is there a waiting list? How do I get my name on the list?
Yes we have a waiting list. Simply make a $500.00 deposit and you will be called in order when an apartment is available. The deposit is retained as a portion of your total deposit upon move in.

Are utilities included in the rent?
Yes, your rent includes, electricity, gas, water/sewer, laundry facilites, garbage pick up twice a week, Satellite television, including an in house channel, and local telephone. The only additional costs to your rent are long distance, internet and garage.

Do you have internet available?
Yes, we have wireless Broadband, the fee is added to your rent if you want to subscribe. We also have a Computer Lab.

How many meals are offered each day? What happens if I don't like what is served?
We serve a Continental Breakfast, Noon Restaurant style meal with salad bar and an Evening Soup/Sandwich & Fruit snack. Two meals are included in your monthly rent. We do have an alternative menu if you can't eat what is served. We serve healthy well balanced meals and cater to special needs diets (low sodium, diabetic, allergies).

What happens if I'm sick and can't go down to the Dining Room?
We offer tray service to your apartment at a minimal cost. We encourage staying home bound if you are ill to protect your health and the health of your neighbors.

Do you have nursing services?
No, The Embers is an Independent Living Community which does not offer nursing care. You can contact Home Nursing to come in and help when there is a need.

Do you have rehabilitation facilities?
Yes we have a Personal Fitness Trainer on staff and a full range of exercise equipment and an indoor swimming pool to help you on the road to recovery and to stay healthy and strong in the future.

Is there an emergency call system?
Yes each apartment is equipped with emergency pull cords in both bathrooms and bedrooms. We have 24 hour staffing with our resident manager. We work with Life Line if you feel it’s needed.

Is there a place to get together for coffee?
Our Coffee Shop is a great place to get together and visit. With the attached outside deck you can have your coffee, cappuccino, or tea while enjoying the out of doors.

Are there scheduled activities?
Yes we have a full time Activities Director who plans many events. We also have RSVP and Red Hat participating groups. We also have our Orpheum Home Theater.

Is transportation provided?
We have regular transportation for all medical needs and we schedules regular weekly outings to banks, grocery stores, Mall, K-Mart, Wal-Mart and Church on Sunday.

Are there parking garages?
We have underground parking, outside garages and parking lots for residents.

Will my apartment be cleaned?
We have an excellent housekeeping staff that will clean your apartment twice a month. They will also do flat linens and laundry at a nominal fee.

Do you have guest rooms for out of town guests?
We have 3 Guest Rooms for your family and friends. We also have a kitchen equipped Community Room for family gatherings that can be reserved at no cost.
